Synopsis:

La Mére du Lac is a dark fairy tale about an aging Senegalese warrior whose pregnant wife becomes gravely ill. With the help of his precocious daughter, he kills the magical fish that protects their village to save his wife, unleashing an ancient curse on the children of the village.
